Directories and Websites (Washington, D.C.)

There are are many Web sites have to do with the Washington DC area.  We make no claim to comprehensive coverage, though we do list a couple directories that give good coverage.  We have, however, put together some of the best websites that cover business, entertainment, and life in the Capitol City.

  • WMATA has a great trip planner that will get you around the city and suburbs using public transportation.  Use this instead of Mapquest if you get tired of parking and traffic.

Where are the best parties and events in DC? Embassies!  Go to this site for a great overview of what’s going on, as well as a directory of individual embassies.

Having the Congress here in our city, the only place in the country where residents can’t vote for anyone responsible for raising our taxes, is somewhat ironic.  However, it does mean the city has a great library.

You got one of the nation’s best papers for daily hometown news.  But many people look forward to every Thursday, when the local free weekly comes out with an independent take on what’s happening.
